The birth of this asphalt mixing plant stemmed from an in-depth collaboration lasting 18 months. SDCAD’s engineering team crossed mountains and seas multiple times to visit the project site on Java Island, Indonesia, and conducted detailed discussions with the client’s project team regarding the local high-temperature and high-humidity climate characteristics, the physical properties of local aggregates (such as basalt and andesite), and the production capacity requirement of 300 tons of asphalt mixture per day. From the framework construction of the initial plan to the optimization of details like the heating power of the drying drum and the selection of dust removal systems, every step centered on the core objectives of “carbon reduction, efficiency improvement, and local adaptation,” ensuring that the equipment could not only cope with Indonesia’s complex construction environment but also fulfill the client’s commitment to climate-friendly development.
As the core highlights of the customized design, this asphalt mixing plant embodies professional considerations in both structure and performance: Its aggregate storage system adopts 3 series-connected intelligent silos with a zoned compartment design, boasting a total storage capacity of 1,200 cubic meters. It can store 3 types of aggregates with different gradations simultaneously. Equipped with a frequency-conversion controlled pre-feeding conveyor belt, it can efficiently match the unloading rhythm of local dump trucks, completely avoiding interruptions in raw material supply and ensuring the continuity of highway construction. For the critical component metering link in asphalt mixing, SDCAD’s independently developed servo-driven metering module controls the metering accuracy of asphalt, mineral powder, and anti-rutting additives within 0.3%. Even when dealing with the proportioning of small-dose functional additives, it can achieve precise control, directly enhancing the high-temperature deformation resistance and durability of the asphalt mixture—perfectly adapting to the highway service scenarios in Indonesia, where high temperatures and heavy rains prevail year-round.
In terms of green energy conservation, the equipment design is even more tailored to Indonesia’s energy structure and environmental protection requirements: Considering that asphalt needs to be mixed within a precise temperature range of 150-180°C, SDCAD integrated an infrared temperature sensor and a PID intelligent temperature control system into the plant. This system monitors the temperature of hot aggregates in real time and dynamically adjusts the natural gas combustion power of the drying drum to avoid energy waste. At the same time, the high-temperature flue gas emitted by the drying drum is passed through a waste heat exchanger to recover heat for preheating cold aggregates, reducing overall fuel consumption by 18% and significantly cutting carbon emissions. In response to Indonesia’s strict regulations on air pollution, the mixing plant is also equipped with a high-efficiency bag filter with a dust removal efficiency of 99.8%. Combined with fully enclosed asphalt storage tanks and conveying pipelines, it completely eliminates unorganized emissions of dust and asphalt volatile matter, meeting the highest standards of local environmental protection authorities.
Furthermore, the fully automated operation and maintenance system further enhances the equipment’s practicality at Indonesian construction sites: SDCAD’s independently developed PLC intelligent control system enables automatic regulation of raw material proportioning and production rhythm, and also supports remote monitoring and fault early warning. Even if the construction site is located along the remote island-circling highway, the client can grasp the real-time equipment operation data through mobile devices, reducing manual intervention and lowering operation and maintenance costs.
